Why horses? As prey animals, equines are highly in tune with their body sensations, emotions and intuition. Horses communicate through their body and without word. Their survival depends upon the creation of a safe community known as the herd. With the horse as our mentor, humans can tap into their intuition and 'authentic nature' by the same methods.

New PTSD Protocol Being Integrated in Buffalo Woman Ranch Programs!

The PTSD Protocol at The Buffalo Woman Ranch uses Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy to build a journey that allows the clients to lead the way.  Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy incorporates horses into an experience of emotional healing.  Horses have an uncanny resonance with the emotions that people are harboring, and they are able to help release them.  By following the resonant field of a person, they are able to track and release trapped traumatic energy. Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy is conducted on the ground in a round pen assisted by a team consisting of Equine Specialists, a Psychotherapist and a therapy horse at liberty. Further interaction with individual horses or the entire herd can offer numerous benefits. Horses have useful skills that have evolved over time for processing trauma as they are fight or flight animals, living with a predator/prey mentality.   These skills can be applied to successfully release stuck trauma in humans.

Women Who Run With Horses July 10-11, 2010

Cost: $450 ( includes meals and lodging).

The Buffalo Woman Ranch offers the Women Who Run With Horses Retreat as an in-depth journey into the well-being of the whole self; spiritual, emotional, mental and physical.  In this women’s intensive,  we have the opportunity to embody conscious femininity.  Allow the wisdom of horses to take your forward where your past wounds become gifts you carry into new realms of consciousness.  Explore your own symbols and symptoms to discover your authentic self.  Through inspiring lectures, mental-emotional healing, guided heart-field meditations, movement, voice, ritual, creative expression and equine facilitated learning this workshop will help you to empower yourself.

This workshop is spirited by the accompaniment of Sue K, a gifted intuitive and Bowen practitioner; Rhonda Pallas Downey, an herbalist and founder of Living Flower Essences; Robbie Nelson, an OT, priestess/ceremonialist, Epona-approved instructor and Energy Kinesiology practitioner; and Cristy Gylfphe, a level-two EFT practitioner and equine specialist.

All women need time to heal, grow, reflect, reassess and re-affirm themselves and their life.  Too often we move from age to age and decade to decade without support, ceremony or celebration.  Our intention is to provide the environment, spiritual  presence and grounding  to facilitate the development of your intuitive power.  Discover who you really are and how to make life-affirming choices from your inner wisdom and intuition.
